Compress PDF Files Online – Reduce Size Without Losing Quality
Large PDF files can be a problem: they take longer to upload, eat into limited data plans, and may not open smoothly on low-end devices. That’s why I built the PDF Compressor – a free browser-based tool by Atul Patel that shrinks PDF files without sacrificing much quality, ideal for students, teachers, village offices, or anyone with slow internet.
This tool works entirely in your browser - no server involved. You get to choose the compression level: “Low” preserves quality, “Medium” helps reduce size, and “High” gives smaller files at the cost of sharpness. Once you upload your PDF, it processes every page as a JPEG image scaled down using the open-source pdf.js
and reassembles them into a compressed PDF using jsPDF
. The entire process is fast, secure, and happens locally on your device.
